Manuela's Foot Care
S. A. C. Dip. RFHP

Qualified, insured and registered Foot Health Practitioner

Working in Health Care, holding a level 3 in adult and social care, has opened my eyes how much we are needed out there but also how often vulnerable people might neglect their feet and become isolated due to pain, discomfort and shame and sometimes not through their own fault.

I love my job as a Foot Health Practitioner, I have a passion to help people. It brings me great pleasure to walk out of my patients home knowing I have made them feel like 'walking on clouds', feeling better and leaving them with a smile on their face.

I am a Level 4 accredited Foot Health Practitioner (S.A.C.Dip RFHP) and on the register for Foot health Practitioner. I am also working with care homes to provide footcare for residents and with the Shropshire council to provide footcare to vulnerable people in the community.
I hold an advanced DBS and I regularly update my CPD to provide the highest standard in foothealth care.

My mission is prevention and my aim is comfort and care!
A professional Foot Treatment image
I am a mobile Foot Health Practitioner who offers a professional treatment in the comfort of your own home. Routine foot care includes an antimicrobial treatment, nail trimming, thinning and filing, callus and hard skin removal, corn removal and a soothing moisturising finish.

If you know someone who isn't able to reach their feet to cut their toenails or you suffer with an ingrown toenail, need a regular diabetic foot check or suffer with Fungal nail infection, contact me to discuss your needs.
Don't leave it until walking becomes painful. A regular home visit will improve your mobility, gain confidence and can prevent foot health issues.
A new and painless treatment for involuted toenails and ingrown toenails.
I am excited to announce that The Onyfix® Nail Correction System is now available at Manuela's Foot Care . This new and innovative product enables painless treatment of almost all forms of involuted and ingrown toenails.

Onyfix® is considered safe for use in adults and children, even high-risk patients, including those with diabetes or peripheral neuropathy. The Onyfix® strip does not make direct skin contact, and there have been no reported allergic reactions.

The Onyfix® Nail Correction System fixes to your toenail, which is then brought back into its natural shape as the nail grows. Clinical studies show that a 12-month treatment protocol results in positive outcomes.

The number of applications required during the 12 months is patient dependant. Some people will require 2-3 Onyfix® strip applications to achieve the desired outcome.

Once the Onyfix® strip is applied, you may bathe, shower and swim as you like.

You can apply nail polish over the top of the Onyfix® strip, provided that it can be removed with acetone free liquid nail polish remover. Gel or shellac nail polish must never be applied with Onyfix®.

If you are experiencing problems with involuted (curled) toenails or ingrown toenails, I would  love to speak to you about The Onyfix® Nail Correction System.

What is the Lacuna Method?
The Lacuna method is the term used for a fungal nail treatment involving the drilling of very small holes in the nail plate to aid the penetration of antifungal solutions to the infection at the nail bed.
How does it work?
It it is now understood that the active part of the fungal nail infection is actually on the nail bed (the skin beneath the nail) and not the nail itself. The nail plate acts as a barrier between the application of antifungal solutions purchased over the counter accessing this active portion of the infection.
Small holes drilled into the nail plate allow the antifungal solution to access the nail bed, therefore the active portion of infection. The pressure from footwear on the nail helps redistribute the treatment under the surface of the nail. This stops the fungus spreading and encourages the healthy nail to grow out, along with the holes. As with any antifungal treatment, this takes time, as the infection will clear only as fast as your toenails grow, which can take up to 18 months.
Who can benefit from the Lacuna Method?
People with a mild-moderate fungal nail infection - infection that doesn't reach past the cuticle, as antifungal solutions cannot access this portion of the nail.
Symptoms of a fungal nail infection include:
  • Nail thickening
  • Nail discolouration - usually either white/dark/yellow
  • Brittle nail texture
  • Build up of debris under the nail
  • White patches on the nail plate
  • Lifting of the nail
